Elizabeth Duff Drozd

Elizabeth Duff Drozd has been practicing law for over 20 years and during that time has represented hundreds of businesses and individuals.

In working for business she has successfully developed purchase and sales agreements, mergers, acquisitions and start-up operations. She has also handled contractual relationships, employee matters, real estate transactions and a variety of litigation matters. Her business clients are located throughout the State of Texas as well as many other states and countries. Elizabeth also represents individuals in probate, guardianship and family matters, both contested and uncontested. She is regularly appointed in all Fort Bend County Courts as both Attorney ad Litem and Guardian ad Litem for Probate and Guardianship cases. In her representation of both business and individuals, she brings her negotiating skills to each matter trying to avoid costly litigation. Her training as a mediator has assisted in resolving complex issues that arise in business matters as well as the emotional matters that arise in personal relationships.

Elizabeth has conducted and participated in numerous Civil and Family Mediations as she believes that Alternative Dispute Resolution is an integral part of the litigation system. She also volunteers her time as a mediator through the Fort Bend County Dispute Resolution Center as well. She was trained as a mediator through the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center at the University of Houston in the 40 Hour Basic Mediation Training and also completed the Fort Bend County Dispute Resolution Center 24 hour Family Mediation Training.

Elizabeth earned her Law Degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston. She earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She has practiced in numerous counties around the State of Texas, the Court of Appeals in Houston, and the Southern District of Texas. Elizabeth is a member and past director of the Fort Bend County Bar Association. She has been a member of the State Bar College since 2007 and is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee for District 5A.

Elizabeth has built her law practice through her long standing belief in giving back to her community. She was the President of the Fort Bend County Fair Association from 2009 through 2010 and has held all Executive Committee Offices as well as being a Board member since 2004. She has been a member of the Rotary Club of Richmond, Texas since June of 1992 and was President 2001-2002. She has held most offices and board positions in the Rotary Club of Richmond, Texas. During the 2004-2005 Centennial Anniversary of Rotary International as well as from 2010 through 2011 she has served as Assistant Governor for District 5890. She has also been a member of the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance (Formerly Rosenberg Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce) since 1998, served on the Board of Directors and is a Graduate of Leadership 1999. Her other volunteer efforts include Red Cross, Fort Bend Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Graduate of the Richmond Citizens Police Academy and she is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond.

Elizabeth was born in Dallas, Texas but moved to Richmond, Texas with her family in 1974. She has remained in and around Richmond since moving to the area. She currently lives in Richmond with her husband Carl Drozd, who retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service. Carl currently serves as a City Commissioner of Richmond, Texas.
